•  It is one of the prominent Regional Centres in South India to have consistent high growth rate in student registration every year. 

•  The Regional Centre Vatakara, over the years, has played a major role in realizing the dreams of large number of  IGNOU  learners  to  obtain  their  Degree,  Diploma and  P.G  Degree  from IGNOU. 

•  The Regional Centre took special initiative to help and promote education among the Tribal Youth in the Wayanad District. An IGNOU  Centre for facilitating this has already been established at Mananthavady (Wayanad District). 

•  The IGNOU Regional Centre has, a special study centre established in the Central prison at Kannur to provide IGNOU programmes, as a part of Social inclusion, to the Jail Inmates every year. . 

•  The Regional Centre Vatakara has been awarded the Best Regional Centre Award by the University during 37th Foundation Day on 19th November, 2022.
